Files of Frank D. Marzitelli, 1957-1976.

Files kept by Frank D. Marzitelli documenting his service as Deputy Commissioner (1956-1961) and Commissioner (1975 - November 1976) of the Highway Department. The records include correspondence, environmental impact studies, photographs, reports, minutes, maps, and related materials. His years as deputy commissioner are captured only by correspondence files, including series with governors Orville Freeman (1957-1960) and Elmer L. Andersen (1961), and several photographs (1957-1958) and speeches (1958-1961). Much of this correspondence, as well as that while he was commissioner, includes letters from Minnesota residents, primarily on the topic of development, as relayed to Marzitelli through their representative legislators.
